Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
ZNF839, also known as C14orf131, is an 811 amino acid protein containing one C2H2-type zinc finger. The gene encoding ZNF839 localizes to chromosome 14 and expresses four isoforms due to alternative splicing.
Chromosome 14 includes approximately 700 genes and 106 million base pairs, representing about 3.5% of human DNA. It encodes the presinilin 1 (PSEN1) gene, associated with Alzheimer’s disease, and the SERPINA1 gene, which when defective leads to alpha1-antitrypsin deficiency.
Additionally, the immunoglobulin heavy chain locus on chromosome 14 is known to fuse with the chromosome 19 encoded protein BCL3 in (14;19) translocations found in various B cell malignancies.
