Three-prime-phosphoadenosine 5-prime-phosphosulfate (PAPS)는 모든 sulfotransferase (SULT) 효소의 sulfate donor cosubstrate입니다. SULT 효소는 내인성 및 외인성 화합물(약물 및 기타 xenobiotics 포함)의 sulfate 결합을 촉매합니다. 인간에서 PAPS는 adenosine 5-prime triphosphate (ATP)와 무기 황산염으로부터 PAPSS1 및 PAPSS2 두 isoform에 의해 합성됩니다.
