Target Information
CHEK2 (CHK2) is a serine/threonine kinase involved in the DNA damage checkpoint pathway. Mutations in CHK2 are linked to various cancers. CHK2 phosphorylates tumor suppressor proteins such as BRCA1, aiding in cell survival after DNA damage. It is considered a putative tumor suppressor, with mutations associated with Li-Fraumeni syndrome and predisposition to sarcomas, breast and brain tumors.
