The protein encoded by this gene is a transcription factor containing C2H2-type zinc-fingers and a positive regulatory domain. It is associated with B cell differentiation and tumor suppression. Mouse studies suggest involvement in CNS development and neuronal storage disease. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants exist.
