Target Information
TNFRSF14 is a member of the TNF-receptor superfamily and functions as a cellular mediator for herpes simplex virus (HSV) entry by binding to viral envelope glycoprotein D (gD). The cytoplasmic region of TNFRSF14 interacts with TRAF family members, mediating signal transduction pathways that activate immune responses. Activation in T cells promotes proliferation and cytokine production, contributing to inflammation and enhanced CTL-mediated tumor immunity. Multiple alternatively spliced variants exist, though full-length forms of some remain undetermined.
