This antibody detects endogenous levels of total hnRNP L.
Target Information
Heterogeneous nuclear RNAs (hnRNAs), including mRNA precursors and mature mRNAs, associate with specific proteins to form heterogeneous ribonucleoprotein (hnRNP) complexes. hnRNP L is one of the proteins stably associated with these complexes and plays a major role in the formation, packaging, processing, and function of mRNA. It is predominantly localized in the nucleoplasm as part of the hnRNP complex but has also been identified outside the nucleus. hnRNP proteins shuttle between the nucleus and cytoplasm, suggesting potential cytoplasmic functions. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified for this gene.
