This antibody detects endogenous levels of total RPL14 protein.
Target Information
Ribosomes are the organelles responsible for protein synthesis, composed of a small 40S subunit and a large 60S subunit, which together include four RNA species and approximately 80 distinct proteins. The RPL14 gene encodes a ribosomal protein that is part of the 60S subunit and belongs to the L14E family.
It contains a bZIP-like domain and is localized in the cytoplasm. The gene exhibits polymorphic GCT trinucleotide repeats, leading to variable alanine stretches in the protein. Multiple transcript variants exist, all encoding the same protein, and several processed pseudogenes are dispersed throughout the genome.
