Target Information
CNOT7 (CCR4-NOT transcription complex subunit 7) exhibits 3′–5′ poly(A) exoribonuclease activity for synthetic poly(A) RNA substrates. Its function overlaps with CNOT8 and serves as a catalytic component of the CCR4-NOT complex, a major cellular mRNA deadenylase. This complex is involved in mRNA degradation, miRNA-mediated repression, translational repression, and transcription regulation.
CNOT7 interacts with BTG family members (TOB1, BTG2) and is essential for their anti-proliferative activity.
