Pleiotrophin (PTN)은 18 kDa의 분비성 헤파린 및 콘드로이틴 결합 단백질로, 혈관 및 신경의 초기 발달에 중요한 조절성 사이토카인입니다. 높은 PTN 혈청 농도는 다양한 고형 종양과 관련이 있으며, 다발성 골수종(MM) 환자에서도 상승된 수준이 관찰됩니다. 정상 성체 조직에서는 발현이 매우 제한적입니다.
