Target Information
The Jagged1 protein encoded by JAG1 is the human homolog of the Drosophila jagged protein. Human Jagged1 acts as a ligand for the Notch1 receptor, a human homolog of the Drosophila Notch receptor. Mutations in JAG1 are associated with Alagille syndrome. Jagged1–Notch1 signaling has been shown to play a role in hematopoiesis.
