SGK2는 serine/threonine protein kinase로, serum 및 glucocorticoid에 의해 유도되는 SGK와 유사합니다. SGK와 달리 SGK2는 serum이나 glucocorticoid에 의해 유도되지 않으며, phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase를 활성화하는 신호에 의해 유도됩니다. SGK2는 PDK1에 의해 인산화 및 활성화되며, 인슐린 유사 성장 인자 1에 의해 약하게 활성화됩니다.
