Product Specific Information

The eBio64DEC17 antibody reacts with human IL-17A and is a neutralizing antibody.
IL-17A is a CD4+ T cell-derived cytokine that promotes inflammatory responses and is elevated in conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, multiple sclerosis, psoriasis, and transplant rejection.
Human IL-17A exists as glycosylated 20–30 kD homodimers produced by activated CD4+ T cells. It enhances ICAM-1 expression in fibroblasts and stimulates epithelial, endothelial, or fibroblastic cells to secrete IL-6, IL-8, G-CSF, and PGE2.
In the presence of IL-17A, fibroblasts can sustain CD34+ hematopoietic progenitors and induce neutrophil maturation.
IL-23-dependent, IL-17A-producing Th17 cells are a unique subset distinct from Th1/Th2 pathways. IFN-γ and IL-4 negatively regulate Th17 generation.
Intracellular staining by eBio64DEC17 identifies the same cell population as eBio64CAP17.

Applications Reported: Detection antibody in ELISA and ELISPOT, neutralization, and intracellular staining.
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated for intracellular staining and flow cytometry at 5 µL (0.25 µg) per test (100 µL final volume).
Excitation: 488 nm; Emission: 519 nm; Laser: Blue Laser.
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.

Target Information

Interleukin-17A (IL-17A, CTLA-8) is a 32 kDa disulfide-linked homodimer of 136 amino acids, part of the IL-17 family (IL-17A–F).
It signals through IL-17R and regulates NF-κB and MAPK pathways, stimulating IL-6 and COX-2 expression and nitric oxide production.
IL-17A promotes inflammation and cell recruitment in autoimmune and chronic inflammatory diseases.
