Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene is a proinflammatory cytokine that can induce IFN-gamma production in T cells.
In combination with IL-12, it inhibits IL-4 dependent IgE and IgG1 production and enhances IgG2a production in B cells.
IL-18 binding protein interacts specifically with this cytokine and negatively regulates its biological activity.
