Target Information
Histone H3 is a DNA-binding protein found in the chromatin of all eukaryotic cells. Together with other core histones, it forms the nucleosome structure that organizes DNA. Histones are key regulators of transcription, DNA repair, replication, and chromosomal stability. The N-terminal tail of histone H3 undergoes various post-translational modifications—such as methylation, acetylation, and phosphorylation—that influence chromatin structure and gene expression.
