FGFR2 유전자의 돌연변이는 Crouzon, Pfeiffer, Apert, Jackson-Weiss, Beare-Stevenson, Saethre-Chotzen 등 여러 두개골 조기융합 증후군과 관련이 있습니다.
여러 가지 대체 스플라이싱 전사체가 보고되어 있으며, 서로 다른 이소폼을 생성합니다.
