Target Information
Ribosomes are organelles that catalyze protein synthesis, composed of small 40S and large 60S subunits. These subunits contain 4 RNA species and approximately 80 distinct proteins. The RPL24 gene encodes a ribosomal protein that is part of the 60S subunit and belongs to the L24E family. It is localized in the cytoplasm. Although previously referred to as ribosomal protein L30 due to similarity with yeast L30, its official name is ribosomal protein L24. Multiple processed pseudogenes of this gene exist throughout the genome.
