Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.

This affinity purified antibody is directed against human AP1G1. A BLAST analysis suggests reactivity with AP1G1 from human, chimpanzee, and orangutan (100% homology). Cross-reactivity with mouse, rat, dog, and chicken may occur due to minimal sequence variation (one amino acid residue). Reactivity with AP1G1 from other sources is not known.

Target Information

Adaptins are key components of clathrin-coated vesicles that transport ligand-receptor complexes from the plasma membrane or trans-Golgi network to lysosomes. The adaptin family includes alpha, beta, beta-prime, and gamma adaptins. Together with medium and small subunits, they form heterotetrameric adaptor complexes that promote clathrin-coated pit and vesicle formation. The AP1G1 gene encodes a gamma-adaptin protein, a member of the adaptor complex large subunit family. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
