Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the membrane-associated guanylate kinase (MAGUK) family, functioning as a molecular scaffold for multiprotein complexes at specialized plasma membrane regions. It is also a member of the CARD protein family, characterized by the caspase-associated recruitment domain (CARD). This protein has a domain structure similar to CARD14 and interacts specifically with BCL10, a positive regulator of cell apoptosis and NF-κB activation. When expressed in cells, this protein activates NF-κB and induces phosphorylation of BCL10.
