Target Information
IL-1 receptor associated kinases (IRAKs) are serine/threonine kinases involved in signaling via Toll/IL-1 pathways. Upon TLR activation, IRAK1 is rapidly recruited by MYD88 to the receptor-signaling complex. IRAK1 phosphorylation by IRAK4 leads to autophosphorylation and activation. It can also phosphorylate TIRAP, promoting its ubiquitination and degradation. Additionally, IRAK1 phosphorylates interferon regulatory factor 7 (IRF7), inducing its activation and nuclear translocation, which triggers transcription of type I IFN genes and promotes an antiviral state.
