Target Information
DIABLO (Smac)은 미토콘드리아 단백질로, 다양한 형태의 세포자멸사를 활성화합니다. 이는 IAP(apoptosis inhibitory proteins) 패밀리의 억제 단백질 중 하나 이상을 중화함으로써 이루어질 수 있습니다. Smac은 특정 세포자멸사 유도 시 미토콘드리아에서 세포질로 이동합니다. 미토콘드리아 매개 세포자멸사는 동물의 발달과 조직 항상성 유지에 중요하며, 이상이 발생할 경우 다양한 악성 질환으로 이어질 수 있습니다. 세포자멸사 자극 시 미토콘드리아 단백질인 cytochrome c와 Smac/DIABLO가 세포질로 방출되며, 두 단백질은 서로 다른 메커니즘을 통해 방출됩니다. 또한 Smac/DIABLO는 암세포가 면역 또는 약물에 의해 유도되는 세포자멸사에 민감해지는 과정에서 중요한 조절 역할을 하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
