Target Information
PI4KB and PI4KA are the two human type III PI4 kinases that share sequence similarity with PI3 kinases and phosphorylate the 4-position of phosphatidylinositol. The target protein phosphorylates phosphatidylinositol (PtdIns) at the D4 position of the inositol ring and may play a role in neuronal differentiation and maturation. It also functions as a transporter for alanine, serine, cysteine, and threonine, exhibiting sodium dependence.
