Target Information
Fibrinogen is a soluble protein found in blood plasma and is produced by liver cells. It is a hexamer consisting of two sets of disulfide-linked chains and serves as the precursor of fibrin, which is essential for blood coagulation. Conversion to fibrin occurs through the action of thrombin in the presence of calcium ions.
