• Tested in direct ELISA (for coating, use antibody at 2–5 µg/mL).
  Excellent capturing antibody performance.
• For Immunohistochemistry (PFA-fixed tissues):
  Incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
  Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 min.

Target Information

MUC1 (Mucin 1, also known as Episialin, MAM-6, CA 15-3, PEM, and EMA) is a large cell surface mucin glycoprotein expressed by most glandular and ductal epithelial cells and some hematopoietic lineages.
It is a transmembrane glycoprotein with a large extracellular domain containing numerous O-linked glycans, which are heavily sialylated.
MUC1 is highly polymorphic, with alleles encoding products that vary in repeat number (30–90), resulting in molecular weight diversity.
It is abundantly expressed in >90% of breast carcinomas and metastases.
Transgenic MUC1 associates with all four erbB receptors and localizes with EGFR in lactating glands.
Overexpression, aberrant localization, and altered glycosylation of MUC1 are linked to various carcinomas.
Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been reported.
