Target Information
The ZBTB family of proteins includes diverse zinc finger proteins containing a BTB (BR-C, ttk, and bab) domain.
ZBTB9 (also known as ZNF919) is expressed in multiple tissues, with high expression in the cytoplasm of the placenta.
While little is known about ZBTB9, other ZBTB proteins such as ZBTB4 bind methylated DNA and repress transcription.
ZBTB7A, another ZBTB protein, acts as a proto-oncogene contributing to breast cancer malignancy, suggesting ZBTB9 may function as a transcriptional repressor or be involved in tumorigenesis.
