Target Information
TYW2, also known as TRMT12, is an enzyme involved in the wybutosine-tRNA (Phe) biosynthesis pathway. Wybutosine (yW) is a hypermodified guanosine adjacent to the anticodon of phenylalanine tRNA, stabilizing codon-anticodon interactions during ribosomal decoding.
TYW2 participates in a multistep enzymatic reaction that ensures accurate translation by stabilizing base-pairing. It has been found amplified in multiple breast cancer cell lines, with overexpression in most analyzed tumors, suggesting a potential role in breast cancer progression.
