Product Specific Information

This antibody specifically recognizes the phosphorylated Ser23 and Ser24 residues of human Cardiac Troponin I.

Target Information

Cardiac Troponin I (TnI) is an inhibitory protein within the cardiac muscle troponin complex, associated with troponin C (TnC) and troponin T (TnT).
It regulates muscle contraction by controlling the interaction between actin and myosin in response to calcium binding.
Measurement of TnI and TnT levels in blood is a key diagnostic indicator for myocardial injury, aiding differentiation between angina and myocardial infarction.
Mutations in the Cardiac Troponin I gene are linked to familial hypertrophic cardiomyopathy type 7 (CMH7) and familial restrictive cardiomyopathy (RCM).
Additionally, Cardiac Troponin I has been shown to inhibit angiogenesis both in vivo and in vitro.
