MET (cMET)은 receptor-like tyrosine kinase로, 다양한 인간 암종에서 발현 이상이 보고되어 있습니다. 리간드 활성화 후 PI3-kinase 하위 단위 PIK3R1, PLCG1, SRC, GRB2, STAT3 등과 상호작용하며, RAS-ERK, PI3K-AKT, PLCγ-PKC 신호 경로를 활성화합니다.
배아 발생 과정(근육, 신경, 혈관, 신장 형성)과 성체의 상처 치유, 장기 재생, 조직 재형성에도 관여합니다. MET은 위암, 신장암, 유방암 등 다양한 암과 관련되어 있으며, 항암 치료 및 진단 연구의 주요 타겟입니다.
