Target Information

Voltage-gated K⁺ channels in the plasma membrane control repolarization and action potential frequency in neurons, muscles, and other excitable cells.
The KV gene family encodes over 30 proteins forming K⁺ channel subunits, varying in gating, permeation, and expression patterns.
Functional KV channels assemble as tetramers of pore-forming α-subunits (KV1, KV2, KV3, KV4, KV9) and accessory subunits that modulate channel properties.
KV3.2 is a multipass membrane protein regulating voltage-dependent K⁺ permeability of excitable membranes. Its tail may influence subcellular targeting and channel activity regulation.
