Target Information
WNT9B is part of the WNT gene family, consisting of structurally related genes encoding secreted signaling proteins. These proteins are implicated in oncogenesis and several developmental processes, including regulation of cell fate and patterning during embryogenesis. Expression studies in the teratocarcinoma cell line NT2 suggest involvement in early neuronal differentiation induced by retinoic acid. WNT9B is clustered with WNT3 in the chromosome 17q21 region.
