Target Information
The MRP family comprises nine similar ABC transporters capable of transporting structurally diverse lipophilic anions and functioning as chemical efflux pumps.
MRP7 (multidrug resistance-associated protein 7, ATP-binding cassette sub-family C member 10) is a multi-pass membrane protein belonging to the ABC transporter family (conjugate transporter subfamily).
It is involved in ATP-dependent transport of 17β-estradiol-D-17-β-glucuronide (E217βG) and likely contributes to cellular detoxification via lipophilic anion extrusion.
MRP7 contains two ABC transmembrane type 1 domains and two ABC transporter domains. Three isoforms are known, with isoform 2 being most widely expressed and isoform 1 predominantly in the spleen.
