Target Information
Epitope tags provide a method to localize gene products in various cell types, study protein topology and complexes, identify associated proteins, and characterize newly identified or low-abundance proteins when specific antibodies are unavailable.
The V5 epitope tag is derived from the P and V proteins of simian virus 5 (SV5). It typically uses the full 14-amino-acid sequence (GKPIPNPLLGLDST) but can also be applied with a shorter 9-amino-acid sequence (IPNPLLGLD).
