Target Information
HLA-DR beta refers to the beta chain of the HLA-DR protein complex, a member of the human leukocyte antigen (HLA) class II molecule family.
The HLA-DR beta chain is encoded by the HLA-DRB gene and is primarily expressed on the surface of antigen-presenting cells such as dendritic cells, macrophages, and B cells.
These cells capture, process, and present antigens to T cells, playing a crucial role in immune recognition.
HLA-DR beta facilitates the presentation of antigenic peptides to CD4⁺ T cells, essential for adaptive immune activation.
Structurally, it includes an extracellular domain (peptide-binding groove), a transmembrane domain anchoring it to the membrane, and a cytoplasmic tail involved in signaling.
HLA and MHC antibodies are key tools in Immunopeptidomics, supporting the identification and characterization of neoantigens through LC-MS/MS analysis.
