Target Information
P2Y6 belongs to the family of G protein coupled receptors. This family includes several receptor subtypes with different pharmacological selectivity, which may overlap for various adenosine and uridine nucleotides.
The receptor is responsive to UDP, partially responsive to UTP and ADP, and not responsive to ATP.
P2Y6 expression has been observed in blood cells, bone marrow, brain, colon, heart, kidney, ovary, placenta, spleen, and thymus.
ESTs have been isolated from cervix, embryo, eye, kidney, liver/spleen, placenta, and vessel libraries.
