Target Information
DAPK3 (Death-associated protein kinase 3) is a serine/threonine kinase involved in cell motility, smooth muscle contractility, and cell death. Encoded by ZIPK, DAPK3 is a component of desmosomes and the epidermal cornified envelope in keratinocytes. Its N-terminal domain interacts with the plasma membrane, and the C-terminal domain associates with intermediate filaments. Through its rod domain, DAPK3 forms complexes with envoplakin, linking the cornified envelope, desmosomes, and intermediate filaments. It also interacts with AKT1/PKB, suggesting a role in AKT1-mediated signaling.
