Product Specific Information
The XMG1.2 antibody reacts with mouse interferon (IFN) gamma and functions as a neutralizing antibody. Mouse IFN gamma is a 20 kDa cytokine produced by activated T, B, and NK cells, exhibiting antiviral and antiparasitic activity. It synergizes with TNF alpha to inhibit proliferation of normal and transformed cells. Glycosylation does not affect its biological activity.
Applications Tested:
- Verified for low endotoxin levels (LAL assay)
- Tested for ELISA capture and neutralization bioassays
Neutralization Performance:
- ND50: 15 ng/mL antibody inhibits 50% of bioactivity of 1 ng/mL mouse IFN gamma in EMCV assay of L929 cell protection.

Target Information
IFN gamma (Interferon gamma, Type II interferon) is a macrophage activation factor produced primarily by T lymphocytes and NK cells. It is a dimeric glycoprotein (~45 kDa) consisting of two 146 amino acid subunits. The biological activity is species-specific; human IFN gamma does not cross-react with mouse IFN gamma.
