NR2E3 (NR2 Hepatocyte NF4-Like Receptor)는 시각세포 발달에서 원추세포 증식에 영향을 미치는 것으로 알려져 있습니다. 인간 망막 형성 중 광수용체 표현형을 결정하는 역할을 하며, RD7 생쥐에서 NR2E3 결실은 유전성 망막 이형성 및 변성을 유발합니다. 또한 NR2E3의 동형접합성 미스센스 돌연변이는 특정 인구 집단에서 망막색소변성증과 연관되어 있습니다. 두 가지 대체 스플라이싱된 아이소폼이 보고되었으며, NR2E3는 망막에서 발현됩니다. 또한 인간 폐, 결장, 난소의 암 조직 및 정상 안구 조직에서 EST가 분리되었습니다.
