Target Information
Anaplastic Lymphoma Receptor Tyrosine Kinase (ALK) belongs to the insulin receptor superfamily and is vital for brain development. Mutations, rearrangements, and amplifications in the ALK gene have been found in various tumors, including anaplastic large cell lymphoma, neuroblastoma, and non-small cell lung cancer. Chromosomal rearrangement often results in a fusion gene between ALK and nucleophosmin (NPM), forming the oncogenic NPM-ALK fusion protein. ALK is a receptor protein-tyrosine kinase with transmembrane and extracellular domains, showing high sequence similarity to LTK. It plays a crucial role in neuronal development and function.
