Target Information
Histone H3 is a DNA-binding protein found in the chromatin of all eukaryotic cells. Together with other core histones, it forms the nucleosome structure that organizes DNA. Histones are central to transcription regulation, DNA repair, replication, and chromosomal stability. Post-translational modifications of histones, such as methylation, acetylation, and phosphorylation, influence chromatin structure and gene expression. The N-terminal tail of histone H3 undergoes various modifications that modulate cellular processes.
