TGF beta-1 (TGFB1, Transforming Growth Factor Beta 1)은 사이토카인 슈퍼패밀리의 일원으로, 대부분의 조직에서 발견되는 폴리펩타이드입니다. 이 단백질은 세포의 증식, 분화, 부착, 이동을 조절하며, 다양한 성장 인자를 양성 또는 음성으로 조절합니다.
TGF beta-1은 전구체 형태에서 절단되어 활성형과 비활성형으로 존재하며, 활성형은 TGF beta-1 호모다이머 형태로 작용합니다.
TGF beta-1 유전자는 종양 세포에서 상향 조절되며, Camurati-Engelmann 병 및 낭포성 섬유증과 관련된 돌연변이가 보고되어 있습니다.
