Target Information
Neurogenin 1 (NeuroG1) is a basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) transcription factor involved in cell fate determination during development. It plays dual roles in cell differentiation — promoting neurogenesis while inhibiting the differentiation of neural stem cells into astrocytes. NeuroG1 functions as a transcriptional activator for neuronal development and represses astrocyte differentiation by modulating CREB-binding protein and STAT transcription factors.
