PIK3CG (p110 gamma)는 class IB phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase 계열의 유일한 구성원으로, class IA family와 함께 중요한 세포 신호전달 분자인 PIP2를 생성합니다.
PIK3CG는 주로 GPCR 신호경로 하류에서 작용하며, 인산화효소로서 인산이노시톨의 3-하이드록실 그룹을 인산화합니다.
E-cadherin 매개 세포 간 결합에 의한 신호 조절, 상피세포 구조 및 기능 유지에 중요한 역할을 하며, NK 세포의 세포독성 조절에도 관여합니다.
이 유전자는 골수성 백혈병에서 발견된 염색체 7의 결손 영역 내에 위치합니다.
