Product Specific Information
This antibody detects human and rat PTPRU in Western blots and recombinant human PTPRU in direct ELISAs.
In direct ELISAs, no cross-reactivity with recombinant human (rh) PTPRK, rhPTPRM, or rhPTPRT is observed.
Reconstitute in sterile PBS to a final concentration of 0.5 mg/mL.
Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) family.
PTPs are signaling molecules that regulate various cellular processes including cell growth, differentiation, mitotic cycle, and oncogenic transformation.
This PTP possesses an extracellular region, a single transmembrane region, and two tandem intracellular catalytic domains, representing a receptor-type PTP.
The extracellular region contains a MAM domain, Ig-like, and fibronectin type III-like repeats.
It plays roles in cell-cell recognition and adhesion, and studies in mice suggest involvement in early neural development.
Expression is regulated by PMA or calcium ionophore in Jurkat T lymphoma cells.
Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been reported.
