Product Specific Information
This antibody detects mouse Gastrokine 1 in direct ELISAs and mouse and rat Gastrokine 1 in Western blots.
In Western blots, approximately 10% cross-reactivity with recombinant human Gastrokine 1 and no cross-reactivity with recombinant Blottin is observed.
Reconstitute in sterile PBS to a final concentration of 0.5 mg/mL.
Target Information
Gastrokine 1 (GKN1, also known as CA11) is a secreted 185-amino-acid protein belonging to the gastrokine family, containing a BRICHOS domain and an asn-rich region.
GKN1 is reported as an antioncogene, down-regulated in human gastric cancer tissue compared to normal gastric mucosa. It is predominantly expressed in the stomach and co-secreted with mucins.
This extracellular protein acts as a signaling growth factor with mitogenic activity and may be involved in maintaining the integrity of the gastric mucosal epithelium.
