Product Specific Information

This TULY56 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD56 (Neural Cell Adhesion Molecule, NCAM). CD56 is a glycosylated transmembrane molecule expressed by neurons and involved in neural cell adhesion. In hematopoietic cells, CD56 is expressed on NK cells and NKT cells.

• TULY56 does not block CMSSB binding, recognizing distinct epitopes.
• Performs better after fixation/permeabilization than CMSSB.
• Crossreacts with Rhesus macaque.
• Tested for flow cytometric analysis of human peripheral blood cells at 5 µL (0.125 µg)/test.
• Super Bright 702 dye: Excitation 405 nm / Emission 702 nm.
• Recommended bandpass filter: 710/50.
• Use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401) when using multiple Super Bright dyes.
• Light-sensitive: protect from light.
• Fixation compatible with IC Fixation Buffer (Product # 00-8222) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product # 00-5333) up to 3 days at 4°C in dark.

Target Information

CD56 (NCAM) is a transmembrane glycoprotein of the immunoglobulin family involved in cell adhesion and expressed throughout the nervous system (120–180 kDa isoforms).

• Found on T cells and NK cells
• Functions in migration, axonal growth, pathfinding, and synaptic plasticity
• Expressed on neuroectodermal-derived cell lines and tumors (retinoblastoma, medulloblastoma, astrocytoma, neuroblastoma)
• Widely used as a neuroendocrine marker for tumor detection
• Associated diseases: rabies, blastic plasmacytoid dendritic cell neoplasms
