Target Information
This gene encodes a member of the F-box protein family, characterized by an approximately 40 amino acid motif, the F-box.
The F-box proteins are subunits of the ubiquitin protein ligase complex (SCFs), functioning in phosphorylation-dependent ubiquitination.
They are divided into three classes:
- Fbws – containing WD-40 domains
- Fbls – containing leucine-rich repeats
- Fbxs – containing other protein-protein interaction modules or no recognizable motifs
The encoded protein belongs to the Fbls class. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been identified, though the full-length nature of some remains undetermined.
