Target Information

Cannabinoids exert their physiological effects through two G protein-coupled receptors, cannabinoid receptor 1 (CB1) and CB2. Both receptors inhibit adenylyl cyclase and stimulate MAPK pathways. CB1 receptors modulate ion channels via G-protein interactions, while CB2 functions mainly in the immune system and may also be present in the central nervous system, including the retina.
