Target Information
Heat shock proteins (HSP) are expressed in response to various biological stresses, including heat. HSP90 is a 90 kDa protein that is induced under stress conditions and is one of the most abundant cellular proteins under non-stress conditions. It interacts with several intracellular proteins, such as steroid receptors, actin, tubulin, and kinases. HSP90 is suggested to play a role in maintaining the structural integrity of certain steroid receptors, enabling ligand binding during receptor activation.
