Product Specific Information

The MEM-15 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD14, a 53–55 kDa GPI-linked glycoprotein expressed on monocytes, interfollicular macrophages, and some dendritic cells. Complexes of LPS and LBP bind with high affinity to monocytes through surface CD14.

Each product contains:

• 1 vial of NovaFluor conjugate
• 1 vial of CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Pre-diluted and validated for flow cytometry using normal human peripheral blood cells. Recommended use at 5 µL (1.0 µg) per test (100 µL total volume).

Important Notes:

• NovaFluor dyes are not compatible with DNA intercalating viability dyes (e.g., PI, 7-AAD, DAPI).
• Use Invitrogen LIVE/DEAD Fixable Dead Cell stains for viability assays.
• CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer (Cat. No. C001T06F01) is required for optimal staining with NovaFluor conjugates.
• Add 5 µL of CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer per sample before mixing with cells or antibody cocktails.

NovaFluor conjugates are based on Phiton™ technology utilizing nucleic acid dye structures engineered for optimized fluorescent signatures and reduced spillover.

Target Information

CD14 is a 55 kDa GPI-anchored glycoprotein expressed on monocytes, macrophages, and neutrophils. It functions as a lipopolysaccharide receptor and exists in both membrane-bound and soluble forms. CD14 plays roles in immune response, apoptosis, and inflammatory processes.
Associated diseases include Mycobacterium chelonae infection and croup.
