Target Information

PDE6 acts as the effector enzyme in the G protein-mediated signal transduction cascade of the visual system. It consists of multiple subunits:
- Catalytic subunits: α′ (Cone), α (Rod), β (Rod)
- Inhibitory subunit: γ
- Additional subunit δ (likely interacts with other proteins)
The catalytic core forms:
- α′/α′ homodimers in cones
- α/β heterodimers in rods
C-terminal modifications such as methylation, myristoylation, and prenylation are critical for proper complex assembly and membrane association.
