Target Information
Caspase 9 (ICE-like apoptotic protease 6, ICE LAP6, apoptotic protease Mch6, apoptotic protease activating factor 3, Apaf3)은 peptidase family C14에 속하는 단백질로 CARD 도메인을 포함합니다. Caspase 계열은 세포사멸(apoptosis)을 매개하는 cysteine protease로, 비활성 전구체 형태로 발현되며 특정 기질의 단백질 분해를 통해 활성화됩니다.
Caspase 9는 heterotetramer 형태로 활성화되며, 세포질에 존재하다가 활성화 시 미토콘드리아로 이동합니다. Caspase 3 및 Caspase 6를 절단 및 활성화하여 세포사멸 경로를 조절합니다. 또한 Apaf-1과 결합하여 caspase-9의 활성화를 유도하며, 이후 caspase-3를 활성화시켜 DNA 손상 유도성 세포사멸을 촉진합니다. Caspase 9는 다양한 인체 조직에서 발현되며, 뇌 발달 및 신경세포 발달에 중요한 역할을 합니다. 비정상적인 Caspase 9 발현은 암이나 알츠하이머병(AD)과 같은 신경퇴행성 질환과 관련이 있습니다.
